What’s the flower girl’s primary role? … The flower girl, usually an adorable little girl aged three to eight, proceeds down the aisle scattering rose petals along the bridal path. She follows the ring bearer (if there is one), and sometimes she will even out shine the bride. Though l think its fabulous if they can walk down in front of the bride, and look adorable in their little tutu dresses. But a 12-year-old girl in a tutu tossing petals isn’t always a good idea, if she’s a big kid despite your best intentions. Flower girls should be between the ages of 3 and 7. Eight is a stretch if she’s a small kid. Flower girls don’t always have to be tossing petals. Instead of carrying a basket you could have your flower girls carry a single stem of a similar flower to your bridal bouquet. OR they can hand out flowers to the guests at the ceremony. … Of course that depends on how many guests you have how much money you have and how many flower girls you have. I have seen some very funny things with them some are very bossy. Some steal the show, some are so busy smiling at mum and dad they forget to throw the flowers out and some cry the all way down the aisle. I still LOVE wearing tutus heh heh.
